WHAT IS POWER SHIFT PHILIPPINES?
POWER SHIFT PHILIPPINES is the flagship program on the field of youth involvement on climate action of Bicol University Student Council. On the 3 - day camp, youth coming from all parts of the world will come together to discuss pressing issues on the climate action efforts and to create and mobilize action plans relating to climate action initiatives of the youth delegates.

Meet our resource persons
ALLAN BARCENA
Manager, Watershed Management Department, Energy Development Corp. Allan is a lawyer and a forester. He is the Manager of Watershed Management Department of Energy Development Corporation (EDC), a leading renewable energy company which pioneered geothermal energy in the Philippines. Prior to EDC, he worked with the DENR for 20 years where he specialized in forest management and land administration. RENEE JULIENE KARUNUNGAN
Climate Tracker's Outreach Manager Renee is Climate Tracker's Outreach Manager and Dakila's Climate Director. She has been involved in the climate justice movement since 2009. In 2015, she was named by The Guardian as one of the "young climate campaigners to watch before the Paris climate summit." Since then, she has been attending the UN climate negotiations. She is also a freelance journalist covering issues on climate change and the UN climate nagotiations. ARIANNA LIM
Communications Manager Oscar M. Lopez Center She is the Communications Manager of the Oscar M. Lopez Center for Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management Foundation, Inc. Her work is centered on developing effective climate change-related messaging for various publics and through various platforms, to ensure that climate information is not only comprehensible to audiences outside of the scientific community, but also relevant and practicable. |
LUDWIG FEDERIGAN
Co-Founder and Executive Director, Young Environmental Forum At present, Ludwig is the Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Young Environmental Forum and, at the same time, the Country Programme Coordinator of the Plant-for-the-Planet Foundation, and a Climate Reality Leader of The Climate Reality Project-Philippine Branch. As an active advocate and Climate Reality Leader, he has graced both local and international engagements. A.G. SAÑO
Artist A world renowned and multi-awarded artist who has painted more than 500 murals in 10 countries depicting peace and environment. A conservationist who's been involved in marine research and a founding member of Balyena.org, a non-profit group focused on marine mammal research and conservation. He's part of the Climate Revolution of DAKILA, an initiative to raise awareness and lobby against climate change in the media and policy making institutions in the country. DR. NORALENE UY
Independent Researcher Oscar M. Lopez Center Dr. Noralene Uy is an Independent Researcher working on climate change adaptation and disaster risk management. She has been involved in projects with the Oscar M. Lopez Center, United Nations Development Programme, and the Office of Civil Defense, among others. She is currently coordinating a regional project for the Asian Development Bank on enhancing disaster risk information for decision-making in Southeast Asia. |

Philippines Oceans Campaigner of Greenpeace Southeast Asia Vince Cinches is one of the leading NGO personality who leads a network of fisherfolk, fisheries, and marine conservation practitioners that lobbies for the amendment of Philippine Fisheries Code and the development of it’s implementing Rules and Regulation. He also co-lead the campaign in the conservation of all shark species in the country that lead to CITES listing. RODNE GALICHA Philippine Manager The Climate Reality Project Rodne ‘Rod’ R. Galicha serves as Philippine Manager of Washington-based The Climate Reality Project (CRP), founded by Nobel Laureate and former US Vice President Al Gore. He has mentored CRP climate leaders at the Climate Reality Leadership Corps trainings in Indonesia, United States, South Africa, Australia, and Brazil. He is also the Director of Ateneo de Davao University’s environment office, Ecoteneo. LIEZEL BOBADILLA-SALAGUBANG
Forester/NRM Specialist Ms. Liezel currently works as a Forester and a Natural Resource Management Specialist (NRM) at the Watershed Management Department of the Energy Development Corporation - a leading renewable energy company which pioneered geothermal energy in the Philippines. She took her Master Degree in Resource and Environmental Planning in New Zealand and is a BS Forestry graduate from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. |
